Once the adventures begin, I'm sure people will have plenty of questions over what they can and can't do which haven't been covered in the other rules sections. If you have a question, ask it and an Admin member (currently Cyberstudent, Psigen and myself ) will get back to you in this thread.

Q. How many characters can we play as?A. At the moment you can play as a maximum of three characters. You can have an original character. See the 'Applications' board ( championsoftimerpg.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general) for more information. The 'Application Template' thread tells you how to submit a character for approval by administrators. The strongly encourage characters from the canon media - the TV series, the audios, the books, the comics, etc. These characters can be anyone who is not already taken (see the 'Roster' thread in the Applications board). The only restriction is that the characters must have been associated with different Doctors - you couldn't play as both Turlough and Tegan, for example. Players do not have to take all three characters, but no more are allowed.

Q. How do stories work?
A. At the moment, anybody can post stories/make a thread. Each story is Doctor-specific, i.e., it is for a specific Doctor. Companions are more fluid, since we don't have enough members taking companion roles (for example, the Fourth Doctor has been paired with Mel in The Undying Souls).
Once a story is agreed on, the storyline is posted in the relevant Doctor's storyline section. The storyline is just a general notation of what's going on, where it's set and who's involved. Then, a thread is begun in the relevant Doctor's Adventures scetion, which allows people to roleplay in that story. Sometimes, an administrator may add a prologue to add more colour to the storyline.

Q. Which characters do we control in a story?
A. When you roleplay, you may control your 3 character,as long as they are invited to the thread. You may also need to control NPCs (non-payer characters) such as guards, soldiers or aliens.
You may not control other Player Characters (be they original or canon characters). A full list of player characters may be found in the Roster thread in the Applications section. Note that other players may wish to take the story in a different direction, which is not in itself a bad thing, as they could add many different twists and turns to the plot.
The exception to the above rule is when you describe what the above poster is doing. For example, if the first post says the Doctor examines something, the next poster may describe how the Doctor is examining it, then sign off to await the Doctor's reply.

Q. Can you use two of your characters in the same story and have them interact with each other?
A. Yes, you can, however, there must be another person playing in the thread as well.
Q. Can you join a story at any point?
A. If you want to join an adventure that has already started, you have to ask the person who created it if you can. This is because sometimes a new character joining in will upset the balance of the adventure.

Q. Is it permissible to add an image if it related to the story?
A. I would say that it was fine - but only if that image relates to the story. For example, if you are describing something which could be difficult to visualise, or requires a visual element to help in the description of a stunt or event which occurs, an image would help a lot. Images can be inserted by either using the Insert Image button in the Reply screen, or the tags and [/img] in Quick Reply. Note that in order to use the tags, you must place the URL (or web address) of the image you wish to insert. e.g. Iris Wildthyme and the Nullifier of DoomQuestion from Captain Jock.

Can I put my character in an already existing thread, or do I need to start my own?
